ANS Testing (Autonomic Nervous System)

Description

WHAT IS AN ANS TEST? The ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) test is a multifaceted evaluation of not only the Autonomic Nervous System but of the Cardiovascular System also. The ANS device will use electrodes that will be placed on the soles of the feet; this will allow for an accurate evaluation of your Autonomic Nervous System. The ANS will also use a trio of blood pressure cuffs (one on the left arm and one on each ankle) to evaluate the circulation throughout your upper and lower extremities. WHY AN ANS TEST? The ANS can be performed for the evaluation of several conditions ranging from Diabetes, Hyper/Hypothyroidism, Neuropathy, Hypertension, Arrhythmia, Atherosclerosis and more. The evaluation of the Autonomic Nervous System and Circulatory System can allow for deeper insight into the cause/severity of any number of symptoms you may be experiencing. HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN ANS? During the ANS you will be required to remove socks and shoes. Please ensure you are hygienic and wash your feet prior to the test. Please do not add any additional moisturizers such as lotions or creams, this will interfere with proper electrode placement. Keep in mind the electrodes WILL NOT shock you in anyway. Please ensure that you have AT LEAST ONE fingernail on the left hand that is short in length with no nail polish/acrylic styling. This is necessary for proper oximeter placement. CONTRAINDICATIONS If you have a shunt or pacemaker you must not have this test done. Results will not be accurate.
